YouTuber Death Josh Neumann dies at 22: A SKATEBOARDER with 1.2 million YouTube subscribers died after a plane crashed into a lake in Iceland.
Josh Newman, 22, was among four people who died in the tragedy while on a sightseeing tour.
A social media influencer was on board a Cessna plane to create content for Belgian fashion label Suspect Antwerp.
The plane took off from Iceland’s capital Reykjavik on Thursday but never returned and a few days later four bodies were found in Thingvalvtn lake.
Newman was also among the victims. He was known for making skateboarding videos and had over a million followers on YouTube.
The influencer began making clips at the age of 12 when he used his father’s video camera. He dropped out of college to pursue a career in filmmaking and extreme sports.

Digital producer Spencer Shipman said: “Josh touched the lives of millions of people around the world. I don’t think I fully understood the magnitude and extent of your impact until you passed away because you were always mine. There was enthusiasm, my friend.
“You were a friend I admired, looked up to, and trusted in my deepest thoughts and insecurities.
“Trying my best to hold it together and how you would like me. I love you. Fly high and relax bro.”
South African Olympic swimmer Calvin Justus offered his condolences, saying: “Love you all.”
And artist Speechless posted: “He (Josh) inspired us so much. His attitude and smile brought great joy to those around him.
“His legacy will continue to shine and continue to inspire us to do what we love. I am honored to see some of his journey.”

He added: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who supported me during this journey. I still can’t believe we’ve built such an amazing community and I’m forever grateful.”
Newman’s Instagram account is filled with clips where he is skateboarding or skydiving.
Among the victims were suspected Antwerp junior sponsorship manager Tim Ellings, 27, and skydiver Nicola Belavia, 32.

The 49-year-old pilot Haraldur Diego was considered the pioneer of photography tours in Iceland.
The crew used submarine and sonar technology as part of their mission.
Bad weather hampered divers’ efforts to retrieve the bodies, which were found at a depth of 157 feet.
The Cessna 172 did not send a distress signal after it disappeared from radar on Thursday.

In a statement, the suspect Antwerp said: “We are deeply saddened by this news and our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends.
“We are in close contact with them as well as the authorities, and we are doing everything we can to assist them during this difficult time.”
Thingvallavatn is the second largest lake in Iceland and is located in the south-west of the country.
